Ruby Weston was fired from her job with HUD because she followed the advice of her daughter the lawyer not to answer the questions put to her by HUD's office of Inspector General because the US attorney had not provided Ruby with a letter declining to prosecutor her. I was the administrative judge on Ruby's appeal of her removal to the Merit Systems Protection Board. I mitigated her removal to a 15 day suspension. But the board and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals overruled me and reinstated Ruby's removal.
